I was born and raised in the small town of Buena Vista, Georgia, where I discovered my passion for hair at an early age. As a little girl, I remember asking my mom why my hair always looked the way it did in pictures. She lovingly replied, I did the best I could. I just didn’t have anyone to take you to get it done. That moment stayed with me. I decided then that I wanted to make a differenceto help every little girl, and eventually every person, feel confident and beautiful when they looked in the mirror.
At 16, I began doing hair after school, practicing on anyone willing to sit in my chair. My passion grew quickly. In fact, I was once reported for doing hair before I was licensed. Rather than discourage me, it motivated me to pursue my dream the right way.I enrolled at Columbus Technical College, where I earned my Master Cosmetology license. In 1998, my best friend, Tasha Chinn Edge, and I proudly opened Turning Heads, beginning a journey that would shape my life and career.
Over the next 26 years, I grew from a stylist to area general manager at a nationally recognized salon. It was a journey that shaped me both personally and professionally. Every role taught me something valuable. Every client became a part of my story. Through every haircut, conversation, smile, and opportunity, I was reminded why I fell in love with this profession in the first place.
There is a season for everythinga time to plant, a time to grow, and a time to embrace new beginnings. That season has led me here The Cutting Room.
The Cutting Room is more than a salon. It is the next chapter of a lifelong passion built on service, excellence, and genuine care.
My goal is simple: to create an experience where you feel seen, cared for, confident, and excited about your hair.
After more than 29 years behind the chair and in the beauty industry, I’m honored to begin this new chapter and even more grateful that you’ve chosen to be part of it.
I can’t wait to welcome you to The Cutting Room!
